For years, I pushed. I performed. I perfected. Like many busy women, I did what I thought I was supposed to do to feel valuable. But at some point, the striving wore me down. Thatโs when I started paying closer attention to a quieter voice, the one that reminded me to let go of the hustle, that thereโs another way. A softer way. One rooted in presence, grace, and deep trust. That was the beginning of my return to feminine energy.
Understanding Feminine Energy
Feminine energy isnโt something we earn. It isnโt a reward for achieving peace or checking all the self-care boxes. Our feminine energy is an essence that already lives within us. Soft, receptive, intuitive. It calls us to slow down, to listen, and to feel.
What is feminine energy?
If this question feels unclear to you, itโs likely because weโve been taught to prioritize logic, productivity, and performance. Those are qualities of masculine energy, focused on doing, and they have their place in all humans. But when they dominate, we disconnect from the inner wisdom that helps us feel safe, grounded, and whole.
Feminine energy is deeply connected to emotion and presence, embodying the nurturer.ย It doesnโt rush or force. It allows, listens, and holds space, offering balance to the outward drive of masculine energy.
To be more feminine is not about being passive or quiet or less powerful. Itโs to be powerful in a different way. In a more connected, intentional, and graceful way.

The Origin of Feminine Energy
Before there was structure, there was the void โ pure potential. In ancient Taoist philosophy, this was called Wuji, a state of stillness and unlimited possibility. From Wuji came Taiji, the first movement or energy that arises from stillness and sets everything in motion. Taiji is the source of opposing forces that interact to create harmony. From Taiji, Yin and Yang were born. These two energies help explain how the universe stays in balance, not through sameness, but through the dynamic interplay of opposites.
Yinย is the receptive, inward, still energy.
Yangย is the active, outward, doing energy.
While Taoism didnโt use the exact term feminine energy, Yin has long been associated with many of the same qualities we now call feminine: softness, intuition, presence, nurturing, emotional depth, and connection to nature.
So in a way, the modern idea of feminine energy has roots in this ancient philosophy, but the languageย of โfeminine energyโ as we know it today emerged more clearly in the mid to late 20th century. Over time, spiritual and psychological systems began to name these energies as masculine and feminine to reflect how they show up in people, not just in nature.
The important part? You hold both. But many women have been taught to value only the Yang side โ the doing, pushing, producing. Reconnecting with Yin, or feminine energy, brings you back into balance. Back into yourself.
Feminine Energy and Self Doubt
When I was living in my more masculine energy, self-doubt constantly crept in. I was always trying to prove something. Outward success never quieted the critical inner voice that asked, "Is this enough? Am I enough?"
Softening into feminine energy took time, but it helped me begin to heal holistically โ lessening the patterns of self-doubt. Instead of trying to fix or fight my doubts, I learned to sit with them. I gave them space without letting them take over. This shift came from practicing emotional regulation in a gentler, more feminine way.
How to be in your feminine energy isnโt about pushing past fear. Itโs about sitting with it, breathing through it, and allowing yourself to be supported by something wiser, steadier.
Intentional Living with Feminine Energy
Living with intention doesnโt have to feel like a rigid goal-setting practice. It can feel soft, fluid, and aligned. When feminine energy guides your intention, itโs less about control and more about trust.
You still take action, but the energy behind it is different. Itโs not driven by fear or urgency. Itโs guided by intuition and clarity. Feminine essence helps us ask, Does this feel good?ย Is this true for me?ย rather than What will people think?ย or What should I do next?
How to tap into feminine energy in your daily life starts with slowing down enough to notice how things feel. Staying curious is a big one for me. Itโs a way to connect with feminine energy by tuning into your body, listening to the signals it's sending you, and pay close attention to its wisdom. Let your energy speak before your mind takes over.
Feminine Energy and Healing
There is deep healing available when we return to our feminine essence. We begin to reclaim the parts of ourselves weโve silenced. The tenderness. The vulnerability. The desire to be cared for not because weโre weak, but because weโre human.
The journey into feminine energy often brings up old wounds, and limiting beliefs about ourselves. Many of us carry stories about needing to do more, give more, or stay small. But divine feminine energy invites us to release those narratives. It reminds us we donโt have to earn our worthiness. To love yourself is to remember you were always worthy.
This healing isnโt always pretty. Sometimes itโs quiet and uncomfortable. Sometimes it means sitting with things weโve avoided for years. But thereโs something powerful that happens when we stop performing and start allowing. When we begin to embody feminine energy in our everyday lives, we reconnect with something deeper.
Balancing Feminine and Masculine Energy
We donโt have to choose between feminine and masculine energy. We hold both within us. The goal isnโt to reject one but to bring them into harmony. The challenge is that women have long leaned toward societyโs values, like productivity and achievement. This focus encourages pushing, striving, and hustling, which can leave many of us feeling burnt out, disconnected, and unhappy.
When masculine energy supports feminine energy, it becomes a structure for flow. It creates safety for softness. It protects what matters most. But when masculine energy dominates, we can become rigid, controlling, or disconnected from our feelings.
Thatโs why many women are now asking how to be in their feminine energy after years of operating from their masculine. Thereโs no shame in that. Many of us had to survive that way. But we donโt have to stay there. We can learn to connect with feminine energyย again and bring ourselves back into alignment.
Masculine vs feminine energy isnโt a battle. Itโs a dance. When both are honored, we feel balanced, supported, and empowered.
Embracing the Soft Era
This season of my life feels different. Iโve let go of the hustle. Iโve stopped proving. Iโve stepped into a softer rhythm, and itโs changed everything. I make decisions from my body, not just my brain. I trust my own timing. I honor rest just as much as movement, all in service of living more authentically.

To live from divine feminine energy means deepening into your fullness. Learning how to bring more of her presence into bloom. Itโs about being fully alive, and fully you.
Sometimes that means crying for no obvious reason. Sometimes it means saying no without explaining. Sometimes it means doing less and feeling more. And all of it is sacred.
So what does it actually look like to live this way day to day? How can you begin to reconnect with your feminine energy in a world that often encourages the opposite?
If youโre ready to explore this shift more deeply, I offer coaching for women who want to reconnect with their feminine energy, let go of the pressure to perform, and live with more ease and alignment. You donโt have to do it alone.
